U-M's Threet earns another start

ANN ARBOR -- Steven Threet appears to have locked up the starting quarterback job at Michigan.
At least for now.
Threet started the last two games for Michigan, and played well in a 35-17 loss at Notre Dame last Saturday. Nick Sheridan started the season opener.
"Well, he's going to be the starter, yeah," Michigan coach Rich Rodriguez said Monday during his weekly news conference. "He played well enough in that (Notre Dame) game for us to have confidence in him. Nick is still in the picture, too. Nick is still in our thoughts a little bit. I thought Steve competed pretty well (at Notre Dame) and did a nice job out there and keeps getting better."
Michigan (1-2) is off this weekend and opens Big Ten play against Wisconsin on Sept. 27 at Michigan Stadium.
Rodriguez said he is still unclear about tight end Carson Butler's ejection toward the end of the Notre Dame game.
