U-M notebook: Defense comes through with several pivotal plays

ANN ARBOR -- Michigan coach Rich Rodriguez knows what he has in senior safety Brandon Harrison. And he likes it.
Harrison made the play of the game Saturday afternoon at Michigan Stadium to help Michigan escape with a 16-6 victory over Miami (Ohio).
With Michigan clinging to a 10-3 lead in the third quarter, RedHawks quarterback Dan Raudabaugh found Chris Givens for what would have been a 6-yard touchdown catch. Givens grabbed the ball in the left corner of the end zone, but Harrison jarred it loose and Miami had to settle for a field goal.
