It wasn't pretty, but Rodriguez earns first victory with U-M

ANN ARBOR -- Michigan got its running game going Saturday afternoon at Michigan Stadium, defeating the Miami RedHawks 16-6 to earn Rich Rodriguez his first victory as the Wolverines' head coach.

Now, the Wolverines (1-1) have to continue working on their passing game before traveling to South Bend to face Notre Dame next Saturday.

Michigan quarterbacks Steven Threet and Nick Sheridan combined for 103 yards passing out of the spread offense, 50 coming on the team's first play from scrimmage.
