Charlie Weis greeted the question with an "I'm glad you asked."
Weis, Notre Dame's football coach, knew that he would have to respond during yesterday's press conference to inquiries about comments he made April 19, when he said, among other things: "To hell with Michigan.
"Anyone who's a Michigan fan should know and understand that comment pays respect to Bo [Schembechler] and his mentality playing an opponent," Weis said.
