Wolverines better, but still flawed
Just when you get teased.
Not that anyone was convinced Michigan had suddenly become a very good team after the comeback victory against Wisconsin in the opening week of the Big Ten. Not that anyone was starting to believe in miracles. Not that anyone was thinking the unthinkable -- a Big Ten title.
But the reality is, just when it seems the Wolverines are taking a step forward, just when it seems they are starting to "get" it, their return to earth hits like a meteor.
Michigan revealed itself in a 45-20 loss to Illinois at Michigan Stadium, and the truth is there are plenty of flaws. But seriously, did anyone think otherwise?
Maybe, sort of. The victory over then-No. 9 Wisconsin, after trailing 19-0, did something to make believers out of the fence-sitters, and that's not a bad thing, but it's just not reality
