Overview:
The University of Toledo runs a version of the spread offense that is similar to what Michigan runs now. The Rockets run a 4-4 defense that will stem or shift to 4-3, cover 2 or 4 against spread looks.
Offense:
Toledo offense is lead by Quarterback Aaron Opelt. When healthy, he has a nice live arm, and can also make plays with his legs. Top Running Backs are JaJuane Collins and Morgan Williams. Top Wide Receivers are Nick Moore and a very tall Steven Williams. Key to beating/stopping Toledo’s offense is pressuring Opelt and stopping the running game.
Defense:
Top player on the Toledo defense is Barry Church. He is a very good Strong Safety/Outside Linebacker. Defense is area where Michigan needs to exploit if they are going to beat Toledo. Even though they were shut out last week, Toledo is capable of generating quite a bit of offense. Michigan needs to move the ball consistently to keep Toledo's offense off the field.
