UT-Michigan to finally meet in football

Close neighbors have never played
Mike O'Brien doesn't know why the University of Toledo and Michigan never played each other in football in years past.
"Sometimes scheduling just doesn't work," said O'Brien, in his seventh year as UT athletic director. "Scheduling is like putting a puzzle together. I'm not aware of the relationship between the athletic directors prior to when I got here."
The schools have been playing football for a combined 220 years. The reason they're finally facing off against each other on Saturday started with a visit by Michigan athletic director Bill Martin and staff to the UT campus earlier this decade.
