Mailbag Question: How will this off-season be different?

How do you think this off-season will be different from last year? Besides it being longer of course since no bowl game.

Do you think it will actually be harder / tougher on the kids or will it be easier since they have went through it already? Do you think Barwis was holding back a little bit just getting the players use to the system and learning everything.

How will another year in this S&C program help the entire team?

To bad being, the best-conditioned team in America does not get you wins in the fall.

Thanks for the question. In our opinion, the off-season will be tougher and easier. The first reason is because last year Coach Barwis spent a lot of time teaching players how to do the exercises properly.

This year most of the players already have that knowledge so expect the workouts to be shorter, and much tougher. The reason it will be easier is most players are already in some type of decent shape and the running should not be as difficult.

The biggest challenge in our opinion is reselling the players in the program. When things are fresh and new it is easy to get players excited. After being 3-9, it can be difficult to re-energize players. You have to convince them the program will work and things will get better.
