Mailbag question: about recruiting

Hello ... recruiting question here if it is okay?

I know that recruiting season is not over yet, but what do you guys think of Coach Rod's class this year?

Did he fill holes that we needed along with getting depth, players, etc... that can play?

What does he need to get in your guys opinions to make this a better class?

Is there any committed kids right now that you think will see playing time?

Randy

Thanks for the question.

Yes, recruiting questions are allowed. We will answer just about any question we get asked. (If we know the answer.)

We think Coach Rod and staff have done a solid job recruiting this season. When you consider all the things working against Michigan, recruiting definitely could have been much worse. The depth at some positions have definitely been increased. It's tough to say whether "holes" will be filled until we see the players practice.

We think Michigan still needs a second quarterback in this class. Michigan could also use a split end who is capable of stretching the field vertically. Mostly, we think Michigan needs "difference-maker" types of players on defense.

We like what we see of Turner, Campbell, and couple of other defensive recurits. They have the potential to be very good. We think Michigan needs a middle linebacker, another pure safety or cornerback (depending on where Turner ends up), and an outstanding speed/edge rusher.
