Coach,
I think you said your going to the Michigan coaches clinic this week? If that is still the case what are you going to be looking for along with what are the little things that a coach looks at compared to what some fans might see there. Also what are your expectations going into this time of seeing the team for the first time this spring I presume along with seeing all the new coaches? What are you hoping to see? From various reports are you excited or a little worried from everything you have heard leading up to this event?
Carl
--------------------------------------------------------------- Thanks for the question. I am always excited any time I go to a major college football program to watch practice, or learn and talk football. First thing I will be looking for are new ideas I can use to improve my coaching and team. I have found that on field demonstrations and practices to be biggest help, but do hope to pick up a hint or two to improve how we run the quarterback read, and especially looking forward to hearing from Coach Shafer and how he has changed his defense. I am also very excited to talk to Coach Barwis on Saturday and see how he has influenced how Michigan practices and plays.
The number one thing I want to see from the team is how their attitude is. Are they a positive group? Football is 90% or more attitudes. If the team comes out spring practice with positive attitude, summer and fall workouts will be far more productive. Both CoachBt and Eroc will be at the coaches clinic to learn first hand of what the Michigan coaches are wanting to do this year.
