Hey guys,
My question is where do you see this offense as far as play calling goes? Will we be 50/50 run/pass or do you see us using the run a lot more or does it depend on the QB we will have this year? How many QB's will we use this year?
Thanks,
Tim.

Thanks for the question. Many factors will go into play calling, as they do with any offense. Key factors include the opponent’s strength and weaknesses. Of course how the game is going, field position, personnel, and overall philosophy.
You would expect Michigan to show more balance than what West Virginia had last year. Still believe Michigan runs first, pass second type of team.
From what we saw at practice and scrimmage the running game was getting the majority of time and reps. Michigan actually had individual and group sessions designed to strictly work on Quarterback read option.
We just do not think the staff would put this amount of time and effort into a scheme unless they 100% believe in the scheme and intend to use it. I just cannot believe Coach Rod and staff would put Threet and Cone into this tough situation running a scheme they do not have ideal skill set for unless they were taking the team that direction. I just do not think they would set these guys to fail that way.
How many Quarterbacks a lot depends on how Threet does during the summer and how does Feagin come prepared to possible seeing snaps this year. You have to think Feagin will see some time this year, but how much to early to really tell especially not knowing how the kid will adapt to college football, playbook and S&C program, Also it might depend on how the season starts out and the offense does. If Threet can get the team rolling and moving the ball with having control of the team, it will be hard not play him. Feagin could be just a person that they use to change it up a bit, but he will have to be able to throw the ball or the defenses will just stack the line knowing he is going to run the ball.
It should be interesting summer.
