Hey Coach,
What is all the talk of losing Hopson after this year? Why would he leave already or people thinking he is going to leave before one single game is played? Won't this years team and record dictate whether or not a coach is going to get a better job with a promotion.
What do you think of him as a LB coach a long with a coach in general. He seems to have a great background with all the experience he has had over the years.
Seems like he is the one guy that isn't getting much talk.
How would you rate our coaches now ... if you dont want to I understand.
Thanks
Aaron

Thanks for the question. We think all the talk about Coach Hopson leaving is because he has such an impressive resume. He was been a successful defensive back coach, middle linebacker coach, and defensive coordinator.
Add in he is also an intense, high energy SOB, and an excellent teacher and it just makes sense either he will look for defensive coordinator job, or some smart program will actively pursue him for job of defensive coordinator.
We was slightly concerned because Coach Hopson had never worked with outside linebackers, but after watching him work, and the play of our linebackers this spring and it took away many of those concerns.
t was some of the best, fundamentally sound linebacker play we have had at Michigan in some time. Most give some credit to Coach Szabo, he taught these players for two years, and that should be taken into account.
We were impressed by what the staff had accomplished in a short time this spring. Staff also has wealth of experience and all have impressive resumes. In our opinion, it is excessively early to make judgments on the new staff. It will take two or three recruiting classes and seasons before we get a true idea of how the staff is doing.
