Mailbag Question: Regarding milestones this fall

Dear Coach,

What are the most critical milestones for any team to achieve over Fall Camp en route to first game? What are the critical milestones for the Offense as the days of preparation move forward?

Are there also milestones throughout the season that the Wolverines will try to meet as the season progresses? Obviously the team will get tighter with plays and signals but is there still nuance introduced throughout the season in preparation for each team or is there a general schedule to stick to while building upon what the team has establishing each week? I suppose there is not much time for anything accepts preparing for the next game after Fall Camp.Any feedback will be appreciated.

Thanks for all the info!
Best regards,
Jay

Thanks for the question. Couple of standards here:

Is teams wants to get better every day. To show some sort of improvement. This game-to-game, practice-to-practice, etc.

What you look for on offense is cohesion and timing coming together. You look for less mental errors. If the mental errors stop, you are much happier as coach.

As season progresses you are looking for execution of offense to improve every snap, every play, every practice, and every game. However, the #1 goal of every team is to come out of fall camp as healthy as possible.

You either get better or worse everyday so why not strive to be better and work hard everyday because your competitors are doing the same thing everyday as well.
