ANN ARBOR, Mich. – In conjunction with the Big Ten Conference, University of Michigan head women's basketball coach Kevin Borseth announced today (Sept. 4) the schedule for the 2008-09 season.
"Our schedule is demanding, there is no doubt about that," said Borseth. "We play quite a few top-25 teams and we have a tough travel schedule, but with that being said, our fans deserve to see us play against quality competition. This schedule will allow us to see what's out there. We need to play good teams that have quality programs because it will be a great measuring stick for our program."
U-M's 36th season of competition gets underway on Saturday, Nov. 8, when the Wolverines welcome Northwood to Crisler Arena for an exhibition contest. The Wolverines open the regular season with a two-game road swing with games at Kentucky and Akron. U-M travels to Lexington, Ky., to tip off the season on Saturday, Nov. 15, and follows with a trip to Akron, Ohio, on Monday, Nov. 17.
