Mailbag question: Vincent Smith

Thanks for the work on the blog. I check it daily.

From what I have seen, V. Smith looks good in all the videos from spring practice. He looks fast and shifty. Has he run reps with the #1's? Will he see playing time this year?

Yes, V. Smith has looked good and has spent time with the first group. He has a football mentality -- and swagger -- this team needs.

There will always be questions about his size, but in our opinion, his toughness and skill level are unquestionable.

Concerning speed, we see V. Smith as exceptionally quick with a nice burst. He does not have super top-end speed, but great football speed.

We will be able to get a better feel for how he will fit in this weekend after attending the Michigan Spring Coaches Clinic.
