Mailbag question: Brandon Graham Replacement?
Mailbag question: Brandon Graham Replacement?
Hey there, I was wondering who you thought, on our current roster, will be the most likely to replace Brandon Graham next year and do you think that they will be an adequate replacement?
Furthermore, who then will be their backup? We didn't get William Gholston and I don't see us getting any Defensive lineman that can come in and start for us in the next year or two. All of the linemen we're looking at and that we have gotten in this class will take a couple of years to develop. As such, we'll need to find the replacement within our current reserves and I was just wondering who you thought that would be.
Thanks,
Nate

Thanks for the question.
At this time, Michigan has nobody even close to B. Graham's level. If another inside linebacker could be developed, we like Ezeh as a replacement for Graham.
With that being unlikely at this time, the most likely replacement is Roh. He has the explosive first step and edge rusher mentality needed.
Question will be can he, or will he gain enough weight and strength to be effective. Time will tell on Roh. Also, he needs time with Coach Barwis and in a typical year we would have liked to see him red-shirt, but probably will not happen with the depth issues on the defensive side of the ball.
