Mailbag question: Regarding Grady

Question about Grady?

Has he joined summer workouts? Does he actually see the field this year and contribute at either slot receiver or running back?

Kelvin Grady has been working out with the football team. We do not see him helping Michigan at running back, but could see him helping out at slot receiver. The slot receiver position play was an area of concern we had this spring watching the offense this during practices.

One thing about the Kelvin situation is that he will be granted a scholarship this year, but does not mean he will have one from there on. It was reported on some message boards that he was a full scholarship player. Well from what we have heard he is given a one year scholarship and will be evaluated over the course of the year to see if he will be granted a scholarship for the following years he has remaining.

Now for Kevin Grady our last update had Kevin Grady on campus and taking part in summer drills. He was still not on the roster. Coach Rod stated he expected Grady to be part of roster when formal workouts begin in August. Kevin can help the team as a fullback, Moundros' back up, and as a back up running back.
