Mailbag question: Tate reminds me of Zac Robinson
Hey Guys,
Got a question for you regarding Tate Forcier.
Does he remind you of the quarterback at Oklahoma State at all (Zac Robinson)?
I was watching College Football Live and saw some highlights of him and he seems to move around a lot like Tate along with how Tate could be used in this style or type of offense?
Could that be the type of offense with Tate that we see instead of the Pat White offense that Coach Rod used while at West Virginia. Not knocking either one but seems that Tate is closer to Zac than Pat.
Thanks ... Dan B.

Thanks for the question.
From what we observed this spring, the zone read was and will remain the base scheme the offense is set around. It (zone read) was drilled every day we were at practice and is clearly still the focus of the offense. We do expect to see Michigan use the short passing game more than last season.
As for quarterbacks, Tate Forcier reminds us of BYU's T. Detmer and Wisconson' s B. Bollinger.
We do believe the offensive play calling will depend on who is actually taking the snaps (T. Forcier or D. Robinson). It is obvious to assume that D. Robinson’s called plays will allow him to use his feet and run with the ball as a pre-snap intent; whereas, T. Forcier will scramble as needed or when the defense breaks down and provides that opportunity. Tate will run more of the base offense, but the offensive scheme is still the same.
