Mailbag question: Coach Robinson is not a miracle worker

Mailbag question: Coach Robinson is not a miracle worker

Guys,

I guess you were right about making chicken salad out of chicken s**t with your comments about this defense.

I am really disappointed in Coach Robinson and some of the things he has done this year. I now realize he is not a miracle worker and we need better talent on defense and need it now!

You guys have been preaching this for a long time and when people was giving you guys crap you kept preaching what you believe ... So keep it up and do not change your stance! Tell us no matter if we do not want to hear it!

How do you think this defense/offense will stack up against teams like Michigan State, Iowa, and Penn State in the next several weeks? This could get ugly I believe.

Left off the Delaware State game because no matter what that should be another gimmie.

Thanks for the question.

The good news is Michigan State is not an overly explosive offense; they do have a couple of plus wide receivers that will cause Michigan some match up problems.

What MSU lacks is a stud running back who will make things tough on Michigan's defense. The Sparties do have the type of big, strong offensive line that has caused Michigan some difficulty, but they start some younger guys who lack experience.

Iowa just might have the best offensive line in the Big Ten conference and will definitely test Michigan when we face them Oct. 10th. Penn State has a big strong offensive line, a very good tailback, and a tight end that taken together will be a challenge for Michigan on Oct. 24th.

Our bottom line is with our/Michigan 's overall talent on defense, and lack of depth, nothing is going to be easy the rest of the way. We can see every game the rest of the season, besides Delaware State; go either way with how teams in the Big Ten are playing along with how Michigan is now playing.

This has been referred on GBMW as the important middle tier games in the Big Ten. So whoever comes out of the scrapes between Michigan, MSU, Wisconsin, Illinois the best has a decent bowl game waiting. Whoever comes out the worst is hoping for 6-6.
