U-M, MSU pursuing CMU coach's son
Central Michigan basketball coach Ernie Zeigler is used to traveling the country in search of elite prospects. As an assistant for Ben Howland at Pittsburgh and then UCLA, he earned a reputation as one of the nation's best recruiters.
Now the head coach in Mt. Pleasant, Zeigler is making the Chippewas much more of a factor on the recruiting trail, especially in Detroit. But as he enters year three of piloting his own program, he could be in the midst of one of his toughest recruiting jobs to date -- battling scores of high majors for one of Michigan's elite prospects, his son Trey.
