Links of Interest for Michigan

Well at the request of a Ms. Ann Onymous I will try my hand at placing the links in a more user friendly format by writing the links into an article- be afraid, be very afraid! So, let’s dive right into football.

What’s in a schedule? Well, apparently everything. Everyday there are pot-shots being fired at weakness of Out-of-Conference (OOC) schedules including the B10s and their degradation, in the end schedules are about money. Now, I don’t take these pokes at UM with much weight everyday one can see a shot at our new QB or how one losing season has made us the biggest loser –one thing hat is evident is that we are still hated, and must be doing business right. Rich himself is even leading cutting edge recruiting techniques such as tweeting, which is crucial in an ever-changing recruiting world in which we cannot continue to take double-figure personnel losses even if it has become common place. Of course if realistic talk about the program does not make you feel better, maybe some booze will – except at UM, even with the luxury boxes we can expect the Big House to remain dry. There are always people who still love us though, like US – and here we celebrate some of our best WRs. The self-love is understandable to US; it is hard not to love our guys when they are so selfless, even now they are preparing to take over the radio in support of the Mott Children’s Hospital. But, we are not the only thing going on the B10; here is what is happening in the rest of the conference.

tGA is once again placing their hopes in TP, even with the traitor Boren shoring up a pathetic O-line it still has issues, and Wildcats have some issues at O-skill positions – but there secondary is one of the B10s strongest. On the B10, er 11, or eventually 12x2 - there are some outside of JoePA who feel the only fit is ND. The conference channel known as the BTN is going to have God’s team on June 15th, which is a much needed interlude to a September that seems so far away. Speaking of the Great Lake State, maybe the right man for the job is inbound.

Apparently on former UM Football play Jay Riemersma may soon be Congressman Wolverine. This may be a very good thing for the sport of football in the struggling state which is experiencing a bounty of HS football camps being shut-down. We need these types of camps if the Michigan players are going to perform as well as they did last week in Champaign. Speaking of Michigan kids, Kevin Grady is performing summer practice and Kelvin is a walk-on. There also some happening in non-pigskin programs.

The ice bound wolverines have released next season’s schedule, and the female team who wallops the little white ball have added two prep stars to the team roster in Caramia Sitompul and Shana Bauer. On the mounded side of things Forrest Hills’ Shortstop Derek Dennis will join UM if not drafted, and he may not be the only draft participant as UM Pitcher Chris Fetter maybe major league bound also, and maybe with success we can also be added to the list of baseball schools. On the hardwood, Coach Beilein has shown in scheduling that he wants his players challenged and worthy, which accounts for the addition of UCONN and Kansas next season, a season already being marked with change in the NCAA to include expanded replay use. As for the orange ball recruiting front - UM Commit Darius Morris was in a recent All-American tourney where he showed out, and prospect Ray McCallum is also on the tournament road. Now, on to UM Football recruiting and their recent addition and prospect news.

With one QB in the bag, Robert Bolden another prominent MI talent is leaning elsewhere and has a couple other B10 teams as favorites over UM. Meanwhile there are some players whose loyalty lies outside where family members have treaded. Livonia RB Austin White had a heck of a Nike combine and though he has brothers at Spartyville, by many takes seems as an Ann Arbor lean. Another Wolverine RB prospects Anthony Barr has the Domer alliance rubbing their scalps as to hi non-automatic family commit to ND, which should not be that surprising as Super Joe’s son even left them at the alter for the Washington Huskies. Meanwhile as RB Darion Hall should see recruiting has an ugly side of free-speech there are still those who see his potential. Speaking of potential there are a couple of receiver prospects who are on fire. Markeith Ambles is being touted as a star regardless of USC backing away he bolstered that praise in a recent standout performance at the San Fran combine. One UM recruitnicks should be happy and salivating about is TE Alex Smith, he recently re-opened his recruitment back-up after a visit to one UM. How bout them Big Uglies? Well they are making news as well; Seantrel Henderson has said he will visit UM again, but to land him may take a package deal with his best friend QB LD Pride. OL Torrian Wilson a huge player from the Miami area named UM a favorite early on, he has a top five list and the boys in blue are on it. The final OL in the news is Damien Robinson and with his camp performance is quickly becoming one of the nation’s high profile lineman prospects. Meanwhile on the D side of recruiting.

UM has added help in the form of LB/DE Ken Wilkins this Trinity player from the Keystone State chose UM in front of a large football camp crowd and said UM was his “Dream school”. Meanwhile previous LB commit Antonio Kinard has stated UM is where he “Needs to be.” and in-state DL Jonathan Hankins got a buckeye offer and he and teammate William Gholston are very tight, but Jonathan visits UM this weekend and that may drastically change things for him. In the DB realm though CB Darius Robinson recently named a top seven which included Michigan, there is banter about him being headed to another UM (Miami), another CB prospect Johnavon Fulton may also be pulling the trigger soon. Finally, S Daniel Easterly will be a camp participant.

Annie let me know if this was better or worse. Should I keep writing or carefully place then pen down and return to links and phrases? Anyhow, thanks for the input and read.

Nice job. If would be an easier read (IMHO) if the format was more along the links of Proffotballtalk.com's "one liners".

Love the site, though.

Thanks for trying the new format - it looks like more work for you. In my opinion, its also more work for us readers - I prefer the original phrase and link format.

Either way, Thanks!
