Mailbag Question: Concerns

HI,

How will the team progress this fall camp compared to previous ones? I expect it them to have a big stride of differences from the first practice to the last before the first game.

Also from seeing spring ball what are the two things that concern you the most going into fall practice and what do you think will be the two biggest things this team will have going for them this camp.

Thanks for the question. We expect some early growing pains. It is just very difficult to install completely different offense in one spring and fall camp. It is also difficult because you do not have the ideal personal. If Michigan stays healthy, we do expect to see significant improvement from game one to game twelve.

Things that concern us most are depth on defense and offensive line. In addition, experience at key positions, quarterback, and offensive line. A third thing would be counting on freshmen at some key areas, slot, and offensive line depth.

Two things we think team has going for them are outstanding attitude. Team seems to be on same page with Coach Rod. It cannot be over emphasized how important this is.

Second thing, this team is probably in best shape of any Michigan team in recent history.

A third thing would be opponents; especially early will be going into game blind. They will not be 100% sure, how Michigan’s new offense and personnel are going to look (unless they read this blog … lol).
