Mailbag Question: Regarding the Quarterbacks

Hey Coach,

What is the biggest thing for this team to have this coming year? It seems like our defense should be good, but are they good enough to carry this team? Is the QB the most important player on this team because of the offense? Where does the athletic ability of the players come out in this offense?

Thanks Jim

Thanks for the question. Yes, quarterback in our opinion is the biggest question mark for the up coming season followed by offensive line and overall team depth.

This offense is based on having superior skill positions players, guys who are capable of taking three yard gains, making one guys miss, and turning play into a long gainer. The athletic ability can show at any of the skilled positions.

As for what see as the key to this season, IN OUR OPINION it is special teams. When you have, an inexperienced offense short fields and even scores created by special teams become even more important.

They also can help the defense by helping to change field position. It is also an area that Coach Rod has put a special emphasis on, and an area that has a lot of room for improvement.

For this team to win the defense must be good and be the strength of the team.
