Mailbag question: Forcier and D. Robinson
The competition between Forcier and Robinson is probably at the front of everyone's mind looking forward to next season.
But I don't think people have looked to next year and what I mean by that is if Robinson does win the starting job from Forcier I can see Forcier transferring to another school.
I just wanted your thoughts on this most people including my coaches have agreed with this and most people I talk to agree.

Thanks for the question.
Whichever of the two wins the quarterback competition would definitely have a leg up over the other going forward.
The experience gained would make it tough for the other to beat them out, but not impossible.
As for transferring, that is very tough call, some kids just fall in love with particular school and stick it out, others want to play regardless where they are at.
D. Robinson in our opinion we can see playing multiple positions this coming year such as quarterback, slot receiver, split end, running back and even in the return game if needed.
We have tough time believing either of the two would transfer prior to next years spring practices. Both of these two have shown a willingness to compete. Now if two or three years down the line it becomes obvious one of the two will get majority of playing time, then we could see the other transferring.
Unless Michigan staff can convince D. Robinson that he has future in NFL as split end, slot receiver, running back and even a return man. At that point we could see both staying the full four years.

With already having 2 bros transfer, I'd think Tate would do all he could to stick it out at UM. I also think D-Rob knows UM is giving him a shot at QB that other schools really wouldn't do so I think he will stick it out to. But you never know.
As far as a chance at the NFL. ~3% of all college kids make it to the NFL. That stat isn't sobering.
The only reason I'd see either of them transferring is due to the morons on MGOBLOG who keep emailing them for a signed game used jock strap.
Are you kidding?
Forcier will be transferring, regardless if he starts or not.
Sooner or later, things will not be rosy for him, and bingo...."Cut & Run".
You can count on ti.
I'm curious as to how many QB's you think Michigan should have. I would assume every major school has 5 or 6 QBs that were recruited for that teams offensive schemes. Don't you think Michigan is still thin at that position. Also as we look back at last year, and the QB situation, i always wondered why RR never tried Brandon Smith at QB. He was a QB in high school and a very good 1. I would think if any coach would of looked at him as a QB, RR would and give any x H.S. QB a shot to play, espically as good as Smith was. I watched his highlites at QB, we was a stud.
Yes, we would like to see UMs roster have 4 QBs who fit UMs system. If UM can get another quality QB in the 2011 class to go with DRob, Forcier, and Gardner that would be a very good situation.
