Hi guys,
Do you see Mike Cox in the coaches plans?
He seems to be buried on the depth chart at running back. And with more running backs coming in this season and next, I am wondering if he will see the light of day there. I have heard that he is a good athlete.
Any chance he can help out on defense?

We like Cox, he is very hardworking and tough kid.
His problem is he more of the downhill I-formation seven yard deep tailback than zone scheme runner.
We hope he can work out at running back because he is our only "big type back" after this year since Minor is gone. We could need him to get those tough yards unless they start going ot more of a fullback / max-back type of running back for those tough yards.
If he is not going to see time at running back we see no problem with Cox trying defense. But it has to be a mutual agreement. Trying to move player who is not in tune with the move can cause a ton of problems.

FWIW, the douche bag ankle biters over at the MGOBLOG Board are having, yet, another hissy fit over this post.
They just can't stay away no matter how much they claim they dislike your blog.
And how classy of them to rip on another devout UM fan who shows his passion for the team. The jerks over there are starting to make OSU fans look benevolent. I guess they are the ones too poor or cheap to get a GBW subscription, come over here thinking they will get a nugget of info that they won't get on Brian's blog (which is a great blog with morons for posters) but still opt to trash you. What aholes.
And let's not forget that they seem to be alright with voicing their opinions but not okay with yours. Isn't that the definition of a hypocrite?
Keep up the good work Eroc. For whatever shortfalls this blog might have, you continue to offer your insight and information not found anywhere else. Ignore the ahole ankle biting haters at MGOBOARD.
The comments and the restarted Mgoboards sections have descended into a pile shit for those who don't want to part take in the pissing matches that usually go on in those pages.
Back in the day, the comments section got out of hand only on gameday (i mean heightened emotions and what not) but on rest of the days you could find good info and spirited/balanced "discussions", not pissing matches!!
But i guess it goes with the popularity of the blog, happy for Brian cause it brings him revenue and deserved fame/recognition, but miss the old days!!
Eroc and co bring in some good info, could use better organization and writing skills (but that's just my opinion) on the whole this is a good place for some M related info!!!
Let me make this 100% clear, I speak 100% only for myself on this post. It in no ways reflects on how my friend ErocWolverine feels or thinks. We have received some disgusting vile threats from some of the posters/readers you mentioned above. To the point that I seriously considered telling Eroc enough is enough. But after some time to col off, the Irish German stubborness and Libertarian in me took and decided it was best to not let these CHICKEN SH*T Pieces of Crap Win.
I understand your frustration with my being grammatically challenged. I have an IDentified Learning Disability and grammar and other basic writing skills will always be a major challenge for me. Now if you want to debate verbally that is different matter. It is like my brain adapted to what I could not do and allows me basically total recall and ability to draw on knowledge quickly and easily. so apologize for my shortcomings and understand it is a problem.
Coach....no hard feelings, that was just my opinion, still enjoy the info that you guys bring out, especially practice reports and what not. I also understand that some of your opinions of certain are just that, your opinions and nothing more. Reporting and speculating are two different things and people who are reading it should be able to differentiate it, goes without saying that the guys writing it also make it clear.
This blog makes it clear when you are reporting and when you speculating, so its really the readers fault and not yours.
There are certain things about this blog that i don't like but i just ignore those things and appreciate the good things that are being presented!!

You have nothing at all to apologize or feel about. Posts like yours are what make helping Eroc here fun. I do this because I absolutely love UM football and enjoy debating and discussing it with others who share that passion. There would be a huge problem if you or any one else 100% agreed with all our opinions. Hell, I would not 100% agree with the Serom From The Mount. I gave a little history about by writing skills, or lack there of because I understand the difficulty reading some of what I write. Just wanted all to know it has not do to laziness or not trying. Stuff just makes no sense to me, almost like a foreign language. The posts I am talking about are way out of line threatening Eroc and myself with violence and even worse. I can laugh off being called a hater, or fair weather fan etc. Been coaching for 31 years now, 29 years of football, so trust me , have been called just about every name in the book. But when it goes to next level and becomes threats to myself or my family that crosses a line.
It is mindboggling that some people take this stuff that seriously to threaten someone over it. Then again, this is the net and anything goes here unfortunately.
