Mailbag question: Heavy dose of running game this year?
With the possibility of Tate being the starting quarterback, do you think Coach Rod may start the season with a heavy dose of running the ball, until say the second half of the Notre Dame game to try to get the offensive unit in sync ? Also, what part of the defense do you feel is most vulnerable to injury, and is most likely to be the weak link?
Thanks WBB

Thanks for the question
We think Michigan will rely heavily on the running game most of the season. That was the strength of the offense this spring and we expect it to be strength of team entire season.
Would not be surprised, if as the football season progresses Michigan does throw the ball more, but will still lean on the running game and rightfully so this year with Minor and Brown probably carrying most of the load this year. Both looked improved and having their speed back as well and positive attitudes helped this spring as well.
Now to the defense question. This is close call between inside linebacker and safety in our opinion. Will go with inside linebacker because two of the four scholarship players available has never played a down of defense.
Regarding safeties, they have two or three freshmen who could help at safety. Michigan did not bring in a single inside linebacker in the class of 2009 in our opinion.
