Help me understand something. I always read that a "kid plays too high. He needs to bend his knees." Now, admittedly, I have never played football (though I have pretended to be a high falutin QB with a cute Coed back at MOJO but that's another story for another day) but I don't understand how it could be that hard to just tell a kid to play lower. And at this stage of a kid’s career, why is this still a problem with a tackle? How do you correct it? Hit the kid with a bendable bamboo stick on the back to alert him to get down? A shock collar, a swift kick to the groin from behind? What I ask? WHAT?Thanks...great blog chock full of good info that you really don't need to depart with. GO BLUE!

Thanks for the question. There are a number of drills designed to help kids play with leverage/ stay low. Best piece of equipment is chutes. These usually tubular lanes that have top bars set at height that
