Lucas-Perry regains freshman status
Eric Lacy / The Detroit News
Michigan basketball player Laval Lucas-Perry , a transfer from Arizona, will regain his freshman eligibility next season, the player's father told The Detroit News.
Laval Perry confirmed Friday the NCAA's ruling on the matter, shortly after he received a call from Michigan coach John Beilein about his son's status.
"I don't know what they did or considered," Laval Perry said. "All I know is that the result was in our favor. We're very happy about it, (Michigan's) compliance office really helped."
Lucas-Perry, a 6-foot-3 guard from Grand Blanc, Mich., left Arizona last December and won't be able to play for Michigan until about mid-December.

My take:
This is how it should have went down anyway just wish he would be able to play the whole season instead having to wait till mid-December. I believe he will be a big help and a much needed player for Coach Beilein. Glad to see he was able to make last year basically a red-shirt year.
