Time, Television Set for U-M Homecoming Tilt vs. Illinois

PARK RIDGE, Ill. -- The Big Ten Conference announced today (Monday, May 12) that the University of Michigan football team's homecoming game against the University of Illinois on Saturday, Oct. 4, will be broadcast by ABC at 3:30 p.m. EDT. This will be the 90th overall meeting between the Wolverines and Fighting Illini.
Michigan holds a 66-21-2 advantage in the all-time series with Illinois, including a 31-10-1 record in Ann Arbor and a 28-9-1 mark at Michigan Stadium. The Wolverines have a 9-1 advantage in the last 10 games in the series, including wins in six consecutive contests.
This will be the 108th homecoming game for the Wolverines, excluding four alumni exhibitions, and the 112th all-time homecoming game played by U-M in Ann Arbor. Michigan has compiled an 82-25 record in homecoming games and has claimed victories in 35 of its last 40 games dating back to 1968.
Illinois is Michigan's second most-common homecoming opponent. The Illini have faced the Wolverines 12 previous times, with U-M holding an 8-4 advantage in homecoming contests. Minnesota is the program's most common opponent with 32 homecoming match-ups (Michigan leads 24-8).
