Detroit News: Article by Lynn Henning

Rodriguez OK, Michigan fans

It isn't only McCain and Obama who are running neck-and-neck as we slide toward mid-September.

Another toss-up seems to surround Rich Rodriguez as Michigan's coach. If the tea leaves are being read correctly, Ann Arbor is ready to believe, but not quite there yet. It's more than Rodriguez being a newcomer. It's also the spread offense and its adjustments that have made any warmup to Rodriguez quite tentative.

Those outside of the Michigan nation -- Michigan State's faithful is an example -- are committed to believing Rodriguez is a coach who wears horns and who will preside over imminent disaster at Michigan Stadium. A personal view is both camps are amiss.
