Mailbag Question:

I agree with all of your comments. If I was forced to give a "Game Ball" it would be to Zoltan Mesko. What I don't understand is "Why" we saw the game we did, especially the D-line. Thoughts on the "Why"?

Great work on your part, wish I could be as close to the program as you.

Side Question - Saw that the basketball program hired a Strength & Conditioning coach. Do they share the same facility as the football program or do they have their own set of exercise facilities?

Thanks,
Bob

Thanks for the question.

Why is tough question to answer?

It could be a number of things. Football is all about momentum and when things start to go bad they usually snowball.

This is especially true with younger, less experienced people who have not fought through the tough times before. When things start to go wrong, it also inspires your opponents, and they get a major shot of confidence and swagger.

Re-watching the film also, thought guys tried to do too much, instead of playing within the team concept. This can throw off timing and make a mess.

The basketball program has their own facility in Crisler to use for strength and conditioning. Almost every program at Michigan has their own. To be able to get a former NBA S&C Coach to both Michigan basketball programs is huge and just shows that some people never got it and had an agenda against Bill Martin and Coach Beilein. I am wondering if every program will have their own methods with help from the football S&C staff to oversee. Some trainers want their own system, but will take help when needed.
