After the debacle on defense against Purdue does Michigan use the 3-3-5 again for Minnesota or should they go back to what Coach Shafer knows and what you call the "okie" defense against Minnesota this week,

Thanks for the question. Michigan / Coach Rod needs to go with the defense that he is going to use long term. Bouncing back and forth between base schemes is recipe for disaster.

Players will be confused and either slow to react, or out of position. In our opinion, switching defense to 3-3 odd stack to use against one spread to switch back next against another spread team makes no sense.

Decide which scheme you want to use as your base and stick with it. Yes, tweak where necessary, but stick with basic concepts and philosophies.
