Teric Jones

Overview: Teric Jones could play either slot receiver or running back in Michigan's version of the spread offense. He has game breaking ability at either position. He even has the ability to be a top special teams player. It appears Coach Rod and staff is going to use every one, stars and subs, on special teams.

Strengths: He's a very quick and explosive athlete. He is very physical defender who runs hard, makes nice cuts in pass routes, and catches everything with his hands while keeping his shoulders square most of the time, demonstrating a smooth and effortless style.

Needs Work: Teric has a tendency to bounce from his hole a tad too early. He must learn to honor his hole and get downhill, drawing defenders to him, before bouncing. He also needs to work on blocking, especially in space.



Projected Positon: Teric can play both running back and slot receiver. Our opinion is that he's the type of player that Coach Rod is looking for to be able to play multiple positions giving him the flexibility of getting the best athletes on the field at the same time. It will be interesting to see how all these new freshmen will fit in (such as Vincent Smith - rb/slot, Fitzgerald Touissaint - rb/slot, Jeremy Gallon - slot) with the current players.

Senior Year: As a senior, he showed improved leg drive and improved his ability to break tackles. Also, Teric made the Detroit News Blue Chip List and the Detroit Free Press "Top 50 in Michigan."
