Mailbag question: Regarding Coach Robinson's new way of tackling

I believe that in one of your reports from the Coach's Clinic you mentioned that Coach Robinson was teaching a new way of tackling. Could you expand on that a little?

Thanks,

Bob from Cary, NC

Thanks for the question.

It is called tracking the football and was designed by a high school coach from California.

Coach Robinson has been teaching the method for a few years now. It involves a different method of teaching and executing pursuit, angles, and breaking down on ball carriers called "shimmying."

It finishes with what players call the Wolverine Wrap. We will be doing a full-length article on this new method in the near future.
