Coaches Corner: For those interested in what new offensive package looks like.

Coaches Corner: For those interested in what new offensive package looks like.

It is called "Trojan package" and just go to MGoBlue and watch Day one of practice begins (day 26).

At the 50 second mark you will see one of the options in the quick passing game scheme called Trojan. What is happening is #13 G. Mathews runs the route that clears the zone, pulls the cornerback inside.

This opens up the sideline to #20 M. Shaw for the catch. There is also another part of the package to the wide, strong side.

You can also see it on the tight end turned TV star Tony McGee video (day 25) at the 1:30 mark. That is D. Robinson to V. Smith running the Trojan package. would recommend the day one practice to get better look.

On the McGee film you cannot even identify the split end, on the other you can see exact route G. Mathews runs.

CoachBt is using part of package and he is having high expectations for it!

Also twebber55 said "without a doubt" this has been our best passing package from the July 7 on 7's through practice and our first scrimmage.

You can do this out of any formation but its been best for us to do it out of trips with the running back to the one receiver side. It is such an easy read for our quarterback.
