Mailbag question: Coach Rod and his emotions

Mailbag question: Coach Rod and his emotions

I know it was a loss but I see improvement in this team and I also
realize now that Iowa may be a little overrated. The papers and media are just eating up the fact that Coach Rod got livid on the sideline. HE SHOULD!! Its football, if you don't have thick skin you shouldn't play the sport.
When someone screws up they need their feelings hurt a little. This
Little League mentality that everyone is a winner needs to stop.
What do you guys think?

Thanks, Jason R.

Thanks for the question.

Coach Rod's fire and passion are our favorite traits. Football is all about playing with emotion and teams generally take on the personality of their coaches, especially the head coach.

Besides, this is how Coach Rod is and this is what he is like when his team practices and plays.

Sports reflect our society and sometimes the picture is not pristine. But at GBMW we still like substance over fluff, getting real over smoke and mirrors. Between all of the contributors on this site, a box of tear-catching tissue could gather dust.
