2010 Michigan Recruiting Announcement: David Mackall
2010 Michigan Recruiting Announcement -- David Mackall
David Mackall, is a former Maryland Terrapin commit, who did not qualify last year and decided to go to prep school at Fork Union Military Academy. He is being mentioned in recruiting circles.
Overview: This is another typical Coach Rod recruit; Mackall has good overall athletic ability, is very versatile, is also a bit of a tweener, runs well, and shows a strong defensive mentality. He could play linebacker, defensive end, and even the hybrid, B. Herron /C. Roh position.
Strengths: Mackall appears to be a legit 6'3 and has the frame to carry additional weight. He possesses solid coverage skills and makes tackles well in space. But what he does best is bring the heat off the edge. Mackall closes very well and has excellent get off; he also shows good burst and is explosive. Further, he is a solid tackler and shows a willingness to be physical.
Needs Work: David needs to add some weight and strength. He also shows a tendency to get too deep and plays a bit high.
