Mailbag question: I cannot stand another off-season like last year.

Well, in many ways I was pleased with yesterday’s game. Unfortunately, TF was a complete dog and D Rob still cannot pass effectively, so here we are. We need defensive players, that much is obvious. But we also need more toughness and determination. B Graham played his heart out and we will miss him.

I cannot stand another off-season like last year. I hope you are doing well,

We agree, Michigan needs to upgrade many things on defense, overall toughness, and physical play included.

We give major props to B. Graham and S. Brown. They will indeed be missed.

Those two were obviously the heart and soul of the defense and their talent and leadership will be difficult to replace. We need some young players, who have gotten some playing time, to really step up, along with other players that are going to be in the two deep to make a major improvement over the winter and spring.

It really hurts not getting those additional bowl practices to give the young guys an opportunity to run the system and see what they can do, because so many times those younger players are stuck on demo teams and run the opponent’s offense or defense and not Michigan’s.
