DeAver D.J. Williamson: 2010 Michigan Wolverine -- Split End -- Signing Day Recap

Posted at 4:00pm -- 2/7/2010

DeAver "DJ" Williamson: 2010 Michigan Wolverine

Height: 6'1
Weight: 172
Position: Split End
High School: Warren G. Harding Raiders (Ohio)
Head Coach: D.J. Dota
Recruiter: Coach Tony Gibson
Class: 2010 Michigan Wolverine Recruiting Class (Signed)

Overview:
D. J. is a tall athlete who has a good combination of size and speed and is a solid special teams player.

Strengths:
D.J. runs very well and shows good quickness. He is a willing blocker and is not afraid of contact. He adjusts very well to the ball in the air and makes catches at the highest point.

Needs work:
D.J. moves better in straight lines. He needs to improve his cuts and his acceleration out of cuts. He creates well in space.

D.J. reminds GBMW of this former Michigan Wolverine:
Ron Bellamy.

Red-shirt or play his freshman year:
No red-shirt, he plays on special teams.

Where do they rank him:
ESPN: 3-Star .. #54 at position.
Rivals: 3-Star .. #N/A at position.
Scout: 2-Star .. #166 at position.

Final Thoughts:
He has speed to be able to stretch the field and this is something Michigan has been lacking for a couple of years. With other split ends coming in early, it might be tough for D.J. to make an impact or see the field in his first year.
