Asked what it means to have a quarterback playing at a high level, Penn State coach Joe Paterno started laughing.
"It's the difference between winning and losing," he said. "That's all."
So far this season, there have been nothing but victories for No. 3 Penn State, which speaks well of Daryll Clark, the team's first-year starting quarterback.
The Big Ten's leader in passing efficiency, Clark has completed 64.4 percent of his passes. He has thrown 10 touchdowns and rushed for six. He has just two interceptions, and has become the clear leader of a spread offense that's piling up a league-high 45.3 points per game.
