ANN ARBOR -- Michigan basketball coach John Beilein is all about improvement. His players are all about respect.

Funny thing is, with improvement typically comes respect.

The Wolverines were 10-22 last season, Beilein's first with the program. They were anything but fierce shooters, making only 39 percent from the field. Clearly, there is room for improvement.

During Michigan's media day Tuesday, the players spoke about improved chemistry, about being in improved shape and about fighting for respect.

"We can't worry about last year," sophomore guard Kelvin Grady said. "We have a new attitude, we have a new focus. ... We will be a better team overall."

Beilein isn't about projecting a number of wins he'd like to see.
