Mailbag question: Coach Robinson getting more control

Mailbag question: Coach Robinson getting more control

GBMW,

Hi, love the site and keep up the good work.

In regards to the defense, I know the only way to get out of this mess on D is to recruit, recruit, recruit. Yes, I heard it here.

Also, in your opinion do you believe that Coach Rod has to hand the keys, so to speak, to Coach Robinson and basically give him total control of the D and allow him to hire and fire his own defensive assistants to help get the defense back on track, with Coach Rod just focusing solely on offense? If Coach Rod continues to be stubborn when it comes to the defense and defensive recruiting, are, in your opinion, his days in Ann Arbor numbered?

Thanks
Chris

Thanks for the question and comments.

Wins fix everything. Maybe that is not the way it should be, but it is indeed the way it is.

If Coach Rod wins, it will not matter who his assistant coaches are.

The reality is that Coach Gibson is not going anywhere, regardless of who the defensive coordinator is.

Coach Tall is probably not going anywhere either.

Coach Robinson realized this situational reality when he came to Michigan. He now has to make the best of it, assuming he stays.

Hopeful having two full springs under the same basic structure will help things out, and improvements, however small, will be realized.
