Mailbag question: Heisman top three

GBMW,

Who do you think should win the Heisman and whom do you think will win it (assuming a difference).

You got a top three on each?

Steve

----------------------------------

Thanks Steve, here from our three are the top three picks.

CoachBt:

Will Win:

1) Colt McCoy
2) Tim Tebow
3) Toby Gerhart

Should Win:

1) Ndamukong Suh - Best Player In College Football.
2) Eric Berry - Stud safety who can cover and hit.
3) Jake Locker - If Jake played for a better team, he would be the favorite.

--------------------------

ErocWolverine: I am tired of seeing quarterbacks win this trophy. It is suppose to be for the best player, not the best quarterback on the best team award.

Will Win:

1) Mark Ingram - Usually the award goes to the best player on best team.
2) Toby Gerhart - Tough sob, a great runner reminds me of the old days.
3) Ndamukong Suh - Best defensive linemen in a very long time.

Should Win:

1) Ndamukong Suh - Best defensive linemen.
2) Toby Gerhart - Best running back.
3) Golden Tate - Best receiver.

-------------------------

Doc4blu: Sports writers are in nothing else very predictable. Colt McCoy will win, I do believe, because he is the only one of the big three quarterbacks who has not won. Colt also has finished strong in the ballets the last two years. Colt is squeaky clean (as are all the candidates) and is playing for the national title. The south may split votes between Ingram and McCoy and this could be the difference for someone else winning the award. The undecided voters I believe will go with Colt on the sympathy route. There is no one who should complain if Ingram, Suh, or Tebow won the award. These guys are all high end. Suh would be my #1 pick for the NFL, but we all know there is little correlation between the Heisman and pro football.

Will Win:

1) Colt McCoy
2) Mark Ingram
3 Tim Tebow

Should Win:
1) Colt McCoy
2 Ndamukong Suh
3) Tim Tebow

I really thought Gerhart should have won it, but playing out west and for Stanford probably did not help him.

Not sure Ingram is the best player in the country, but he might be the best player on the best team.
