Mailbag question: Walk-ons

Can you give us a rundown on the scout team members & walk-on's that stood out the past season?

Thanks for the question.
As far as the walk-ons, Kovacs, Henninger, and Leach saw playing time last season. No offense, but we really hope this year they do not see as much time. Nothing against these fine young men, they were thrown into a furnace that was probably not expected.
We heard some very good reports concerning the walk on quarterback, Nadar Furrha, from Pioneer high school.
On offense, names we heard included Stokes and the three true freshmen offensive linemen. We hope that Fitzgerald Toussaint is 100% healthy and ready to go this year. On defense we heard good things about Turner, Jones, Bell, and Hawthorne.
Clearly, some of the above will play a part in UM’s 2010 season.
