Mailbag question: Players already on the roster who are red-shirts
Speaking of Xs and Os, I read your post on incoming recruits that you hope to evaluate in the spring and that we all hope can contribute, what about players already on the roster, including last year's red shirts? Who do you see as having significantly developed and likely to provide a greater contribution season next fall?

Thanks for the question.
The players we are getting good reports on are Hawthorne, the young offensive linemen, and Will Campbell.
Will progress be sufficient to put them in front of guys with more experience; only time will provide an answer.
We will have a better idea after spring ball and please ask this question again in the springtime or after spring practices are over when we can go into more detail about the players we have seen and how they have progressed over the off-season.

Whoa, it's a little frightening that JT (I can be taught!) Turner is not identified on your list. And, by a "little frightening" I really mean "terrified."
"Hawthorne, the young offensive linemen" -- Do you mean the LB or someone on the OL? Or has Brandon Hawthorne switched positions?
oops, I see he meant, 1) Hawthorne, 2) the young offensive linemen.
