How bad is UM? Today may tell

Wolverines face 7-0 Penn State

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - Both the Michigan Wolverines and Penn State Nittany Lions have spent all week trying to answer the same question.

The Wolverines can't be this bad, can they?

"I get the feeling like, it's not us," UM defensive end Tim Jamison said of a Wolverines team that's been clobbered by Illinois and upset by Toledo the last two weeks. "The talent that we have, it's like you see it in practice, why isn't it coming together in the game?"

UM will play the undefeated and third-ranked Nittany Lions hoping to show a different side.

The Wolverines are ranked 109th in the country in total offense, 100th in scoring, and tied for 114th in turnover margin. Also, they're off to their worst start in more than 40 years with a 2-4 record, thanks to last week's shocking loss to the Rockets.

But there's a different streak UM is riding that has - or should have - Penn State's attention. The Wolverines have won nine straight against the Nittany Lions, last losing to them in 1996.
